Introduction

A person seated on a rock in a quiet desert landscape, with sand dunes and distant rock formations.

I’ve been involved with digital systems for over twenty years, starting in graphic design and gradually moving through art direction, product design, and into full-stack development and system architecture.

My early career was shaped by long-term collaboration rather than agency turnover. I co-founded a small studio, worked with international clients, and spent many years as an independent designer partnering closely with founders and teams. Over time, my role naturally shifted from shaping individual artifacts to holding together larger systems — visual, editorial, technical, and organizational — as they evolved.

Since 2020, a significant part of my practice has been in sustained collaboration with Cultura Foundation in Finland. What began as art direction for a cultural publication gradually expanded into the design and development of a shared digital infrastructure supporting multiple initiatives, publications, and research projects. This engagement required moving beyond design into direct implementation, long-term stewardship, and the integration of editorial, technical, and organizational realities.

In parallel, I’ve collaborated with content-driven international organizations on large-scale platforms, redesigning complex knowledge libraries and supporting teams through transitions in structure, technology, and presentation. These experiences clarified both the conditions under which my contribution is effective and the limits of roles that separate authority, responsibility, and implementation.

Today, my practice sits at the intersection of design, development, and long-term system coherence. I bring a background in visual communication, product thinking, and direct technical implementation, informed by earlier training in psychology and organizational work. This combination allows me to stay present across complexity — not just at the moment of delivery, but as systems grow, shift, and reveal their consequences over time.
