Crimson Circle
Crimson Circle is an international organization founded by Geoffrey and Linda Hoppe, sharing teachings and transformational materials that guide people from spiritual awakening toward embodied mastery. At its center is a vast, organically accumulated library of channeled teachings, workshops, and courses – decades of material that had outgrown the structure meant to hold it.
The collaboration began in 2023 through a personal introduction to Geoff and Linda – the founders and the living heart of the organization. Having been part of the community since 2012, I came to this not as a conventional client engagement, but as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to something of deep personal significance.
Redesigning the System, Not Just the Surface
The project was never purely a visual redesign. Understanding what Crimson Circle is – the nature of its teachings, how its community engages with materials, how content accumulates over time – was inseparable from understanding what the website needed to become. The core challenge was structural: a large, organically grown corpus needed a unifying logic, and the work began with making sense of it – defining relationships between content types, establishing navigational coherence, and creating a foundation for future growth.
That same understanding shaped the visual direction. Rather than imposing a strong aesthetic, the design was kept restrained – warm, clear, and deliberate – calibrated to reflect the tone of the material without overpowering it.
Building Within the Process
Following the design phase, the collaboration continued embedded within Crimson Circle's internal team – working directly alongside editors and developers to build out the system. To support this, a fully functional version of the website was developed ahead of final implementation – before anything was settled and before developers began their work.
This working environment served multiple roles simultaneously: a platform for editors to experiment with content in a live setting, a staging environment for iterative refinement, and a shared reference for the development team. Design decisions could be tested and confirmed directly in context, rather than interpreted from documentation.
Reception
New Crimson Circle website launched to a strong response both within the organization and across the broader community. Geoff wrote personally after launch:
"Alex, the new CC website is a true Master-piece! I can't thank you enough for taking on this project and working with the staff. It is beautiful! We could not have done it without your talent and guidance." – Geoffrey Hoppe
The project established a structural and visual foundation the platform continues to be built on. Following the launch, the collaboration extended into additional areas of Crimson Circle's digital infrastructure – carrying the same principles into new territory.
