DesignWorkout

DesignWorkout is a research, publishing, and design education institute led by Dima Barbanel — whose career spans art direction for Esquire, Harper's Bazaar, and Afisha, and whose visual work is defined by precise systems, rigorous grid logic, and expressive hand-drawn graphics.

Dima invited me to build the digital storefront for Kiosk, their in-house publishing shop. The design came fully resolved: a distinctive interface system with exacting proportions and a raw, hand-crafted graphic quality. My role was to translate it into production-ready front-end code and a CMS flexible enough for the team to manage content independently — without compromising the integrity of the original design.

The implementation was completed as specified. Deployment was ultimately paused when tightening sanctions and platform restrictions materially changed the viability of the intended commerce stack, leading the team to adopt a no-code alternative better suited to the available local infrastructure.
